Vintage Fine Jewellery

Vintage fine jewellery has always had a special allure to me...

Over the course of 20 years in the jewellery industry, my love for design was complemented by an unquenchable fascination with vintage fine jewellery. Truly, jewellery is art at its finest...the most precious of materials are used to create these timeless works of art. Studying each unique piece transports me to a specific moment in history, enabling me to catch glimpses and daydream about life in a different time.

Perhaps it's the allure of Queen Victoria's romantic view of her world...

Perhaps it's Art Nouveau's drastic departure from Victorian designs...

Perhaps it's the Edwardian period's lacy and airy designs cut short by the onset of World War 1...

Perhaps it's Art Deco's geometric designs as women rebelled against the social restraints set forth by the Victorian Era...

Perhaps it's the allure of Cocktail and Dinner parties…

Whatever the reason may be that draws me to a particular piece, one thing remains certain. Each piece will continue to tell new stories as history is yet to be made in the lives of each client that I work with.

My curated collection of restored vintage pieces is always changing. Let me help you find the perfect piece!

Toward the mid 1980's channel and bezel set diamond engagement rings began to follow more curvilinear designs which tended to bend around the center stone. The 1990's continued on with this design perfecting a sleeker, less cluttered look ultimately giving the wearer versatility to comfortably wear their ring with casual or business clothing.

After the end of Prohibition, the Dinner party began to replace the Cocktail party paving way for the Dinner ring. Predominantly worn on the right hand, Dinner rings are designed for wearing during specific occasions and are by no means an everyday ring. The idea of giving a gift to mark a wedding anniversary has been traced by various sources to Ancient Rome or medieval Germany. Among English-language regions, such gift-giving traditions began showing up in the 1800s. It wasn't until the 20th century that an exhaustive list was invented: 5th Wood, 10th Tin, 15th Crystal, 20th China, 25th Silver, 30th Pearl, 35th Jade, 40th Ruby, 45th Sapphire, 50th Gold, 60th Diamond, and the 70th anniversary was Platinum. A contemporary list was created with modern ideas and options and suggests that the first anniversary is gold, the 5th anniversary Sapphire and the 10th anniversary is Diamond.
